Gnomes are mysterious creatures, living on the fringe of civilization in secluded communities. They are in touch with the natural world, and are often druids. There is arcane magic in their blood and they can often be wizards as they learned magic from the elves long ago. Unlike halflings, gnomes are very shy and more likely to have a conversation with a gopher than a human. They do not place any value on great cities and prefer to be left alone. Every now and again, a gnome will venture out of the forest to discover more of the world, but he will rely on illusions or camouflage to remain unseen to most common folk.
